Who We Are
A local crew with spider lifts, bobcat loaders and high capacity chippers. Fully insured, open 24 hours, and working across Monroe County.
Our Story
A One Tree Services is a local tree service company Rochester NY property owners call for tree removal, tree trimming, stump grinding, storm damage cleanup and land clearing. We work on homes and commercial properties across Monroe County, and every job starts with a free estimate.
Trees in this corner of New York have a hard life. Lake Ontario feeds lake effect snow, ice storms coat every branch until it bends, and spring thunderstorms and lake winds go looking for weak unions and shallow roots. A lot of the damage stays hidden until one storm turns a cracked limb on a silver maple into an emergency over your garage.
So we built the operation around what local yards demand. A tracked spider lift squeezes into a tight backyard where a bucket truck never could. Bobcat loaders move logs and debris without tearing up your lawn, and high capacity chippers keep brush from piling up. Our crew works in orange high visibility gear, so you always know who is on your property.
What actually matters when you are choosing who climbs the tree next to your house.
Heavy wet snow, ice loaded branches and fast summer thunderstorms are routine here. We plan every cut around how that weather loads a tree, which is different from generic advice written for somewhere else.
We are open 24 hours, seven days a week. Call (585) 888-9232 at noon or at midnight, whether the problem is a storm or a stump you have been meaning to deal with.
Our rating on Google is a straight five stars. Read what Rochester area customers wrote through the Google link on our contact page, then browse real jobs in the photo gallery before you book.
The same steps whether it is one hazardous oak or a whole property.
First comes the estimate, and it costs you nothing. Someone walks the property with you, looks at the tree, checks what sits underneath it (a roof, a fence, a driveway, a power line) and works out how to reach it. A leaning maple over a garage is a different problem from a poplar in an open field, and the plan should reflect that.
Next we pick the access method. Climbing and rigging gear handle trees that need pieces lowered carefully. The spider lift reaches over fences and flower beds when there is no room for a truck. Honest advice matters here too: sometimes the right answer is a trim, not a removal, and we will say so. Our write up on tree removal versus tree trimming explains how we think about that choice.
Then comes the work, and the part people forget to ask about: cleanup. We talk through what happens to the brush, logs and wood chips before anyone starts a saw, so nothing about the finish surprises you. If you are weighing options, why Rochester homeowners choose professional tree services is a good place to start.
Six services, one local crew. Each page has the details.
Dead, leaning, storm hit or simply in the wrong place. Pieces come down in controlled sections.
Deadwood, crowded crowns and branches rubbing roofs or gutters, handled with proper pruning cuts.
Ground below grade so you can level the spot and plant grass, a new tree or a garden bed.
Open 24 hours for trees on houses, cars and driveways. Day, night, weekend or holiday.
After the ice storm or the wind event, we clear what fell and make what is still standing safer.
Lots and overgrown acreage cleared of trees, brush and stumps for building, landscaping or access.
Four habits we keep on every job, big or small.
Before a rope goes up we look at what is below, who is nearby and where a limb will land. Safe rigging and pruning practices protect your property, our crew and your neighbors.
Whether it is a removal, a trim or a stump, the goal is a result you are happy to look at every day, with your lawn and landscaping left in good shape.
You get a straight answer on scheduling and a crew that treats your property like the place you live, because it is.
We look at the job in person, explain the plan and talk numbers before any work begins. Cost depends on the tree, the access and the cleanup, so we do not guess over the phone.
What you should expect from any tree service company, and what you get from us.
A One Tree Services is fully insured. Tree work puts weight and risk above your house, so ask any company for proof of insurance. For background on what coverage means, the Insurance Information Institute is a useful reference.
Spider lifts, bobcat loaders, high capacity chippers, plus climbing and rigging gear. The tool should fit the tree and the yard, not the other way around.
Reputable tree care follows accepted pruning standards, and you can learn what good work looks like at Trees Are Good, the International Society of Arboriculture consumer site. Judge every bid against it, ours included.
From the lake shore to the canal towns.
Our crew covers Rochester and the rest of Monroe County. Near the lake in Greece and Irondequoit, wind and ice do most of the damage. In Pittsford and Brighton, it is large mature trees beside older homes. Out in Victor, Mendon and Hilton, bigger lots bring bigger trees and more brush. See every town on our service area page.
Ash trees deserve a special mention. Emerald ash borer is a real regional threat, and a dead ash can turn brittle fast. The emerald ash borer information network explains the signs, and our post on how to identify a hazardous tree shows what to look for in your own yard.
